Tadpole Tales LLC (“Tadpole Tales,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates www.tadpoletales.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our site or placing an order, you agree to the practices described here.

What we collect

When you submit your email on our site, we collect that address so we can send you a sample book and occasional updates about Tadpole Tales. When you create an account, we also collect your login credentials — either an email and password or, if you sign in with Google, your Google account details.

To create your book, you’ll share a written memory, descriptions of the people and pets you’d like featured, and optionally some reference photos to help us illustrate them accurately. You’ll also provide a shipping address so we can deliver the finished book. Payment information is handled entirely by our payment processor — we never see or store your card number.

Like most websites, we automatically collect some technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and how you interact with the site. We also record which ad or link brought you here, if any, so we can understand which marketing is working.

How we use it

The information you share is used to create and deliver your book, manage your account and subscription, send you transactional emails like order confirmations and shipping updates, and improve the product over time. If you opted in via our email form, we may occasionally send you newsletters or product news — you can unsubscribe at any time.

We also use aggregate, anonymized data about how people use the site to understand what’s working and fix what isn’t.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the business: companies that handle hosting, payments, email delivery, book printing, and the AI tools used to write and illustrate your book. Each of those providers has their own privacy and security practices, and we only share what they need to do their job.

We share limited data with Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure how our ads perform — specifically, whether someone who clicked an ad later signed up or placed an order. This is standard advertising measurement and does not involve sharing the content of your book or your family photos. If you’d prefer to opt out, you can do so through Meta’s ad preference settings.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in, remember your anonymous visitor ID across sessions, and track which ad channel brought you to the site. Meta’s advertising pixel also sets cookies when you visit. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may affect your ability to sign in or use certain features.

Your family's photos and stories

The reference photos you upload and the memories you write are used for one purpose: creating your book. They are stored securely and are never publicly accessible, shared with advertisers, or used to train AI models. We retain them while your account is active so you can reorder or reference past books, and delete them when you close your account.

Children's privacy

Tadpole Tales is designed for adults — parents, grandparents, and gift-givers. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 13. You may provide details about children in your family to help us create a book, but that information is provided by you, as the adult account holder, and is used solely to fulfill your order. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your choices

You can view and update your account information at any time from your account settings. To request deletion of your account and the data associated with it, email us at hello@tadpoletales.com. California residents may also request a summary of the personal information we hold about them or ask us not to share it with advertising partners — use the same email address with “Privacy Request” in the subject line and we’ll respond within 45 days.

Security

We use encrypted connections, private cloud storage, and role-based access controls to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions and will notify you if a breach affects your personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we’ll revise the date at the top and, for material changes, notify you by email or with a notice on the site. Continuing to use Tadpole Tales after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
