Personalized books about your pet

A personalized book about your dog, your cat, and your kids.

Your dog isn't 'a golden retriever.' He's Biscuit, with one floppy ear and a deep fear of the vacuum. Make a picture book where your real pet and your kids are the stars, drawn from your photos. You tell us the story, and we turn it into an illustrated hardcover.

Free to preview. You only pay once you love it: $39 for one book, or $25/month.

Your real pet, not a breed from a list

Most personalized dog books ask you to pick a breed and a fur color. Ours draw your pet from your photos, so the spots are in the right places and the ears are the right kind of floppy.

Kids adore their pets, and a story where the dog is a hero, a sidekick or a lovable troublemaker is a book they'll want every night. It works for a new puppy, a dog meeting a new baby, or a pet who's been part of the family forever.

Story ideas for a book about your dog or pet

Pick one, mix a few together, or write your own. A paragraph or two is plenty.

The new puppy

“We brought home Pepper, a black lab puppy, in June. Eli (4) and Zoe (6) argued for a week about her name. She chewed one shoe from every pair. A book about Pepper's first week with us.”

The dog and the new baby

“Our beagle Murphy has been our 'first baby' for five years. Now baby Clara is here and Murphy sleeps under her crib every night. A story about Murphy becoming a big brother.”

A pet adventure

“Make it up: our cat Waffles sneaks out at night and turns out to be a secret superhero who protects the neighborhood. Only Sophie knows the truth.”

Everyday life with your pet

“Every morning Daisy the corgi waits at the window for the school bus, and every afternoon she does a zoomie lap around the yard when Noah gets home.”

How it works

Tips for a personalized pet book

  • Add your pet to the family profile with a clear photo or two. A side view and a face-on shot help us get their markings right.
  • Put in the funny, specific stuff: the squeaky toy they carry everywhere, the spot on the couch that's theirs, the word that makes them spin.
  • Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and more all work. If your family has more than one pet, put them all in.
  • Want the dog and the baby in the same book? Add both to your family profile and write about how they're getting to know each other.

Your pet can star in the next one too

Once your family and pets are set up, every next book takes a paragraph: the dog's birthday, a camping trip, or the night the cat saved the moon.

Families who keep going get a new hardcover each month for $25, about anything that really happened or anything your kids dream up. Skip a month or cancel whenever you like. Or just make this one book. That's fine too.

Personalized pet book questions

Will the dog in the book look like my dog?

That's the goal. Your pet is drawn from the photos you add to your family profile. If something isn't right, like the ears or the coloring, you can redraw that picture before anything prints.

Can the book be about a cat, rabbit or other pet?

Yes. Any pet can be in your family profile, and you can include more than one.

Can I make a book about a pet who has died?

Yes. Some families make a book to remember a pet, about the things they loved doing together. Write it the way you'd want your kids to remember them.

Can I see the book before I pay?

Yes. We write and illustrate the whole book first, and you review every page. You can edit any line or redraw any picture. You only pay once you approve it.

How much does a personalized book cost?

$39 for one hardcover book, with free US shipping and no subscription. Or $25 a month for a new book every month, if you want to keep going.

Can we make more books after this one?

Yes. Your family profile is saved, so the next book only takes a paragraph. It can be about any real memory or any adventure your kids make up. Order books one at a time for $39, or get a new one every month for $25. You can skip a month or cancel anytime.
